Kit Instructions:
- Begin your Flutter of Butterflies by doing a first coat of opaque green glitter – you will be layering your glitter mix on top of this to create the enchanted crystal garden effect. We would recommend Debbie’s Destiny, Into the Woods or Grimm’s Forest but any opaque ultrafine green will work.
- Cut your two pieces of wire and mesh tubing to the desired length. Create wire lined mesh tubing by threading wire through the hollow interior of the mesh tubing and anchoring on both ends with hot glue. Repeat with the other piece of wire and mesh tubing so you have two approximately identical pieces of wire-lined mesh tubing. Build your arch by twisting the two wire-lined mesh tubing pieces together and hot gluing both ends to your throw.
- Remove the pull tab from your Fairy Lights, check that they work and then glue into your throw in whatever pattern you desire (for a shoe we recommend wrapping fairy lights around the mesh arch and gluing remaining fairy lights around the interior edge; on a shoe we allow the battery pack to dangle underneath the shoe so it’s out of the way but also accessible for easy battery replacement).
- Once your arch is made and your arch and fairy lights are attached to your throw, glitter everything with a coat of your Enchanted Crystal Garden glitter mix. As the glue dries, the green undercoat will slightly show through the semi-sheer crystal shred in the mix, creating the layered crystalline effect.
- While the glitter on the throw is drying, you can glitter the silk leaves included in your kit if desired.
- Once your throw is fully glittered with the Enchanted Crystal Garden glitter included, use hot glue to add as many or as few of your flora & fauna embellishments as you desire. If desired, cut some crystal dangles for your arch to add even more whimsy. For extra magic try using the crystal glitter hot glue sticks included in your kit!
- We find that the acrylic crystal butterflies on your arch sometimes need a little extra hold beyond what hot glue alone provides. After your throw is assembled, you may find the hot glued butterflies are still “loose” – we’ve included E6000 in your kit in the event you want to add extra reinforcement.
